How the generator works
Scheduling a pool league by hand usually means a spreadsheet, a few evenings, and at least one week where two teams show up to a bar with one table. Nightly Rack's generator starts from what you already know: which teams are in, where they play, and which nights the season runs.
- Teams and divisions. Add teams, then split them into divisions if the league is big enough to need them. Single-division leagues skip this step.
- Venues and tables. Each venue records how many tables it has. The generator never books more matches at a venue on one night than that venue can host.
- Play dates and closures. List the season's nights. Mark holidays or a bar that is closed for a private party and those dates are skipped.
- Pick a style and preview. Choose single round robin, double round robin, division-heavy, or your own weighting of in-division and cross-division meetings.
What it checks before you confirm
- Home and away counts stay even for every team.
- Byes are spread across the season rather than stacked on one team.
- No team is placed on two tables on the same night.
- Every night fits inside the table capacity of its venues.
- A team summary shows each team's home, away, bye count and longest away run before a single fixture is saved.
If the balance looks wrong you change the inputs and generate again. Nothing is written to the season until you confirm.
After the schedule is confirmed
Fixtures land on the Matches page grouped by night, each with a venue and a scoresheet ready to go. Captains see their own fixtures on their team page, and printable paper scoresheets can be produced for a whole play date at once.
